Explore alternative realities with a wild pack of firespinners! 1337 mixes Fire, Circus, Junginan Archetypes, and general mayhem into a single event. Be shocked and amazed, but pay attention. Somewhere in the maelstrom there is a story to be told. 1337 is an industrial performing artists' collective focused on producing, choregraphing, and performing with fire and light.

Based in New York City, we once resided at the lunatarium where we performed on a regular basis. Performances also occur in various parades, clubs, private parties, films and on the streets. We have performed at The Roxy, Shine, Limelight, JoeÕs Pub, and McBeth's, a venue for the promotion of Lot 47 Films' release, Scotland, PA.

1337 takes its art beyond the performance. Our artistic process is centered on the development of fire and circus arts as a whole. To better advance our beloved medium for everybody, 2 of our 3 weekly rehearsals are generally advertised and open to anyone to watch practice and learn. All of 1337 is encouraged to share their skills with anyone who shows love and respect for the art. We offer workshops on basic performance skills and 1337 even maintains equipment to loan out to novices. After a review of our rules of safety anyone can make use of our fire equipment, stilts or trapeze. A portion of our funding will always go towards the construction and maintenance of equipment for general use.
